In an effort to bring some additional attention to some of the standout documentary shorts of the past year, the Cinema Eye Honors for Nonfiction Filmmaking has named five nonfiction short films to the inaugural edition of the Cinema Eye Shorts List.

Short List include:

BREADMAKERS (UK)
Directed by Yasmin Fedda

CITY OF CRANES (UK)
Directed by Eva Weber

KIDS + MONEY (USA)
Directed by Lauren Greenfield

ONE DAY (Denmark)
Directed by Ditte Haarløv Johnsen

THE TAILOR (Spain)
Directed by Oscar Perez

Cinema Eye co-chair Thom Powers said that rather than giving an award to just one film, they decided to create the honor list to recognize multiple works. The Shorts List was chosen by a committee of eleven film programmers, led by Cinema Eye Shorts Nominations Chair karen Cirillo, short film programmer for the True/False Film Festival and Doxita.

One clarifying note: This is not to be confused with the earlier announcement of the 15 FEATURES that had been named to the Feature Short List, from which the nominated films will be announced later this month.
