The nominees for the 81st annual Academy Awards were unveiled this morning.

As expected 2008 IDA Documentary Award-winner Man on Wire ended up in the Best Documentary Feature running along with Encounters at the End of the World, Trouble the Water, The Betrayal (Nerakhoon) and The Garden.

In the Best Documentary Short Film category, The Conscience of Nhem En, The Final Inch, The Witness - From the Balcony of Room 306 and another 2008 IDA Documentary Award nominee, Smile Pinki, made the list.

While not eligible in the documentary category, Ari Folma's Waltz with Bashir got a nom in the Best Foreign Language Film category, along with The Baader-Meinhof Complex (Germany), The Class (France), Departures (Japan) and Revanche (Austria).
