The Missouri Review, named one of the top five literary magazines in the country, announces the addition of two short video categories to its annual Audio (and now Video) Competition. The video/film prize money of $1,000 will be divided between the first place winners in the Creative Short category and Documentary category. Running time for entries should be 10 minutes or less. In addition to being eligible for the cash awards students are also eligible for “Best Student Entry,” a non-cash award. Winning and selected entries also have the opportunity to be screened in conjunction with the True/False Film Fest (Feb. 28 to March 2, in Columbia, MO, www.truefalse.org), an event that attracts emerging and top filmmakers internationally. Winners will also be featured as video podcasts on the website of The Missouri Review magazine. Judges include True/False Film Fest co-directors David Wilson and Paul Sturtz; Emmy-winning documentarian Robert Swope; and novelist, American Book Award winner, and editor of The Missouri Review, Speer Morgan. The entry fee of $24 includes a one-year subscription to The Missouri Review. Postmark deadline is Dec. 1, 2008. For guidelines and entry form, please visit www.missourireview.com.
