Big news out of Austin. Matt Dentler is leaving SXSW and heading north to NYC to take a position with John Sloss's Cinetic as head of marketing and programming operations of the company's Digital Rights Management. Indie guru-ette Janet Pierson will replace him.

SXSW has become a strong supporter of non-fiction filmmaking, and given that Pierson and her family were the subject of the doc Reel Paradise (which they produced, along with Kevin Smith, director Steve James and others), we can assume this will continue.
