Dan Katzir and Ravit Markus say, "We are delighted to share that our latest documentary Praying in Her Own Voice aired on Israeli TV on the International Women's Day. Hope our Israeli friends had a chance to watch it. If you missed it, it will be broadcast a few more times, check local listings for Yes - the Israeli Channel on which it aired." Over the next two months, Praying in Her Own Voice will play in Kansas; Tampa, Florida; New Haven, Connecticut; Los Angeles and Chicago. Katzir and Marcus' previous film, Yiddish Theater: A Love Story, will be playing in Fairfax, Virginia and Dayton, Ohio. www.newlovefilms.com

Amanda Micheli is a producer on the series Russell Simmons Presents Brave New Voices, which premiered on HBO this past Sunday, April 5. Annie Sundberg and Allison Berg are also produecrs. Says Micheli, "I had the opportunity to collaborate with an incredibly talented crew in both San Francisco and Hawaii, who worked on this with me for much of last year. Our exec producers pulled together an incredible volume of material from seven different cities to create the series. These young poets are incredibly talented and bring boundless passion and honesty to both the personal and the political in their poems." Brave New Voices is a new seven-part series that features teenage poets and their mentors from San Francisco, Philadelphia, New York, Santa Fe, Ft. Lauderdale, Honolulu and Ann Arbor as they prepare for Youth Speaks' 2008 Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam Finals. These young poets represent a growing national movement featuring thousands and thousands of teenagers writing and performing spoken word as a way to have voice in their communities and in the nation as a whole.
