Museum of the Moving Image: Outdoor Cinema At Socrates Sculpture Park: Who's On First?

Outdoor Cinema, the annual outdoor festival of international films, live music, and food, celebrating the diversity of Queens, is presented by Socrates Sculpture Park in collaboration with the Museum of the Moving Image and Partnership for Parks. Valerie Kontakos’s Greek baseball documentary Who's On First? (2006, 61 mins.) and Jackie Salloum’s Slingshot Hip Hop (Palestine, 2008, 80 mins.), a breakout documentary hit at this year’s Sundance and New Directors/New Films Festivals about young Palestinians who use Hip Hop to surmount divisions imposed by occupation and poverty. Directors will be present and the young musicians from Slingshot Hip Hop will perform. Free admission. Programs continue every Wednesday through August 20. Who's on First was a 2005 Spotlight on Docs selection of Independent Film Week.
