Los Angeles native Domenic Priore has 20 years of experience in TV/film production. While in college, he began his career by producing his own public access TV show, It’s Happening!, a tribute to 1960s dance shows Shindig! and Ready, Steady, Go!. He has worked as a writer/producer for Paramount Television, and has served as a source, fact checker, commentator, writer and/or director for several subsequent projects, including Rock ’n’ Roll for PBS in 1995, and The Secret Map of Hollywood, for BBC. Currently, he and producing partner Richard Waltzer are developing a long-form documentary about Hollywood’s famed Sunset Strip. Domenic is also an accomplished writer specializing in pop culture and music. He is the author of Riot on Sunset Strip: Rock ’n’ Roll’s Last Stand in Hollywood (Jawbone Press, London, 2007), Beatsville (Outre Gallery Press, Australia, 2004), Smile: The Story of Brian Wilson’s Lost Masterpiece (Sanctuary Publishing/Bobcat Books, London, 2005) and Pop Surf Culture: Music, Design, Film and Fashion from the Bohemian Surf Boom (Santa Monica Press, 2008). He was the primary writer on the AMC documentaries Hollywood Rocks the Movies: The Early Years (hosted by Ringo Starr, 2000) and Hollywood Rocks the Movies: The 1970s (hosted by David Bowie, 2002).
