Sabine I. Gölz is associate professor at the Department of Cinema and Comparative Literature at the University of Iowa. She is the author of THE SPLIT SCENE OF READING: NIETZSCHE/ DERRIDA/ KAFKA/ BACHMANN (Humanities Press, 1998), and of numerous articles on questions of language and gender, in particular on authors such as Ingeborg Bachmann, Jacques Derrida, Franz Kafka, Walter Benjamin, and others. Her photography projects have been exhibited in the US, Russia, and France. Together with Oleg Timofeyev, she produced and co-directed the documentary video "Frautschi" (2008). She is currently working on a book on Walter Benjamin as well as on several video documentaries on musical traditions of Ukraine.
