NW Documentary practices, teaches, and shares the art of non-fiction
storytelling. We illuminate important stories that would otherwise be
lost or overlooked, provide experiential learning opportunities, and
generate better understanding, appreciation, and dialog within our
community.
NW Documentary has become a center for documentary storytelling. Since
2003, NW Documentary's programs have reached half a million people.
Our original productions have garnered prestigious awards, and have
been shared in schools, museums, cultural centers, as well as
broadcast. Our workshops have trained more than 200 new storytellers,
creating hundreds of original documentaries, which are shared in
public events and special presentations.
Our newest project is the creation of a Documentary Resource Center
and Lending Library within our organization that will enhance our
community education programs and serve anyone with an interest in
storytelling. To assist in building this Resource Center we're asking
documentary film makers to donate a copy of their work, either in DVD
or VHS format, to the center. We're happy to provide prepaid envelopes
to offset the cost of your gift. In addition, it's tax deductible!
Mail your documentary to the following address:
NW Documentary • 115 SW Ash, Ste. 620 Portland, OR 97204 • 503.227.8688
