Stefan Braun – Both biography and love story, this documentary traces the life and times of world-renowned Israeli furrier Stefan Braun, whose ingenious designs were the last word in mid-20th Century chic. A charismatic man who expressed himself through fashion, Braun juggled a thriving business with a luxurious lifestyle that included numerous beautiful boyfriends and a devoted live-in lover, Eliezer “Laci” Rath. Stocky and far from glamorous, Laci was largely relegated to the background of Braun’s glittering social life; but the primacy of their relationship became clear after Braun’s death in 1990. Illustrated with home movies as well as interviews with Laci and Braun’s circle of relatives, clients, employees and friends, Stefan Braun delivers an intriguing study of a complicated, enduring romance.
