We get a lot of questions about taxes here in the fiscal sponsorship department. While we do our best to point you in the right direction when we can, our advice is no substitute for information from a tax professional. With the end of the year fast approaching I know that many of our fiscal sponsorship participants are starting to think about tax season (Okay, some of you will probably wait until April 14 to think about it but it can't hurt to plan ahead this year now can it!). For those of you who would like to get a jump start, A great local Nonprofit, The Center for Cultural Innovation will be holding a class tonight which will discuss taxes for artists (yes filmmakers, that includes you!).

Taking advantage of various deductions including entertainment,
research, automobile and other expenses unique to artists. Everyone
attending will be provided with a wealth of written information to take
with them, including some guidelines on how to keep good records and a
listing of current websites that are resources for those in business
for themselves.
