This summer is shaping up to be The Summer for Docs about French Guys Who Perform Daredevil Acts Involving Really Tall Buildings. Man on Wire, James Marsh’s film about Philippe Petit’s breathtaking highwire walk between the World Trade Center Towers in 1974 comes out July 25 through Magnolia Pictures. And seemingly to garner publicity for The Human Spider, which airs on BBC America later this month, Alain Robert scaled the 50-story New York Times building last week. Robert has actually climbed buildings around the world, and the Times building, with its lattice-like sheaf enfolding the structure, rated a “1” in terms of degree of difficulty for Robert. The Humkan Spider actually aired in the UK earlier this year. Here’s a story in the New York Post, along with an opportunistic press release from.BBC America.
