Carlos Sandoval is an Emmy nominated filmmaker whose work includes the documentaries: THE STATE OF ARIZONA with Catherine Tambini (Emmy Nomination, CINE Golden Eagle Award), A CLASS APART with Peter Miller (Imagen Award, optioned by Eva Longoria), and FARMINGVILLE with Catherine Tambini (Sundance Special Jury Prize among numerous other awards).

A writer and sometime lawyer, Sandoval’s essays have appeared in several publications, including The New York Times and The East Hampton Star. He is a Sundance and MacArthur grantee, on faculty at the Columbia School of Journalism and is an advisor to Firelight Media. He has participated on numerous public television funding and programming panels, as well as on film festival juries.

Of Mexican American and Puerto Rican descent, Sandoval grew up in Southern California and is a graduate of Harvard College and the University of Chicago School of Law. He has received several awards and citations for his work, including proclamations from the Texas State Legislature and the New York City Council.
