About the project:
My vision is to highlight the realities of a scavenging community in Khon Kaen, Thailand. I have gotten to know this community intimately over the years, and have already created a short film highlighting a few individuals in the community. The film will be both community project and film. We will work with Thai people in Khon Kaen to create a recycling center, and the film will be about this process. I have been working with the documentary with a well known filmmaker, who helped to mentor me through the beginning steps of this process.

About myself:
I am a young documentary filmmaker who likes to make films that are educational, personal, and help create understanding. Some of my projects include films about fair trade coffee, homelessness, and a children's home for Burmese refugees. I have very little equipment at my disposal, but tend to make due with the camera that I have at any given time. I enjoy looking through footage, finding story, and then piecing that story together. I believe wholeheartedly in this project.

What I'm looking for:
I would love to work with someone who is passionate about social justice issues, especially those relating to poverty. I am looking for someone who will be a partner, where there is a give and take. I work better when getting to talk and bounce ideas off others. I need someone who is willing to commit to taking a journey with me.
I am looking for someone who knows about equipment and the more technical aspects of filmmakers, as I am more talented when it comes to creating stories, not capturing them. I am looking for someone who has strengths where I have weaknesses. Because of logistics and time commitments, I would like someone who either lives in the Bay Area. However, it can be worked out! Ideally, you will be able to join me in Thailand sometime between July and August, and can commit to at least 3 months in Thailand.

Let's talk, chat, get to know each other and see if we can make a film together.
