Our Doc U educational public program has received funding support from the City of Los Angeles' Department of Cultural Affairs (DCA). The grant will be used to create Doc U seminars focusing on diversity in documentary filmmaking. These programs, part of Doc U's Point of View series, will run this coming Fall and Winter.

Doc U is the IDA's series of educational seminars and workshops for aspiring and experienced documentary filmmakers. Taught by artists and industry experts, participants receive vital training and insight on various topics including fundraising, distribution, licensing, marketing, and business tactics. Through the Doc U program, the IDA serves 1,500 filmmakers in Los Angeles and beyond each year. For more information on Doc U and to attend upcoming events, please visit the Doc U home page.

The DCA generates and supports high quality arts and cultural experiences for Los Angeles’ 4 million residents and 26 million annual visitors. DCA advances the social and economic impact of the arts and ensures access to diverse and enriching cultural activities through grant making, marketing, public art, community arts programming, arts education, and partnerships with artists and arts and cultural organizations in neighborhoods throughout the City of Los Angeles.
