My name is Aziz Ahmed I am the Producer (Quality Control) for GEO News Pakistan. I studied production at World Wide Television News and started my career in same organization in 1997.
During the time at WTN, I had contributed my work for world media giants as BBC, CNN, CBS, FOX NEWS, Al-Jazeera and ARD German TV. I have covered many news stories in Pakistan and Afghanistan, including 1998 Indian Prime Minister Vajpayee visit to Lahore, October 1999 Coup, Ex. premier Nawaz Sharif court case, 2002 Sheraton Hotel bomb blast, 2002 US Consulate bomb blast, 2002 Daniel Pearl murder. Kargill war in 1998, Afghanistan war in 2001 and most of the breaking news, documentaries and soft stories for these TV channels.
In May 2002, I joined Geo News. Being a part of GEO, I experienced some of the best news coverage as Cameraman and Producer not only in Pakistan but across the world as I have traveled to Baghdad for the “2nd Gulf War” to USA for Presidential Election, The OIC Summit in Malaysia, Sri Lanka for Tsunami, Kashmir for Earth Quake, Election in Iran, Afghanistan and United Kingdom, several visits to Afghanistan and I have covered Benazir Bhutto’s arrival in Pakistan and traveled with her on board. I remained on this assignment till her assassination. Soon after Benazir national elections was the major event, which I covered diligently.
My prominent work including the news coverage Nishter Park Bomb Blast where I was injured with shrapnel my leg was bleeding but my Camera was on roll and that film was aired all over the world. Also my documentary Indus Delta got the best documentary Award in 46th Monte Carlo Television Festival.
