Biography: Bette Jane Cohen is an award-winning filmmaker and film editor. Her education includes the UCLA School of Art and Design and the Southern California Institute of Architecture. She has produced, written and directed the film entitled, "The Spirit in Architecture: John Lautner", portraying the life and work of the visionary architect John Lautner and is currently working on "In Search of A Living Architect: Albert Frey".
She has seen her work honored by an award from the Cine Golden Eagle and grants from the Graham Foundation Center For Advanced Studies In The Fine Arts, the American Architectural Foundation, and the City of Los Angeles Cultural Affairs program. She has created arts and cultural programs for Kuntskanal in the Netherlands and her work has screened at MOCA, Los Angeles; the Pompidou Center, Paris; the House of Architecture, Moscow; Harvard University, Cambridge; the Pratt Institute, New York; and the Graham Foundation in Chicago.
Bette has been a film editor on feature films and television production such as "The Lady in White", "Mother", "The Sleeping Car", and "Creature", and she has edited various documentaries and commercials.
During her rich career Bette has worked as Editor, Assistant Editor, Visual FX, and Photographer for many of Hollywood's top directors such as James Cameron, Steven Spielberg, John Cassavetes, Richard Donner, Elaine May, and many others.
