Biography: I recently returned from Tanzania where I filmed part of a documentary about It Can Be Done, a Chicagoland based non-profit service organization, and their efforts to build a water system in Uru, a town of thirty thousand at the base of Mt. Kilimanjaro. The filming consisted primarily of documenting a pledge climb, whose proceeds are the major source of backing for the project. With those funds, twenty-five wells will be built this summer, and there are plans to dig another 500 wells throughout Tanzania. It Can Be Done strives to use a grass-roots approach to raising money and awareness, and that will ensure a commitment to high quality work from all involved and foster inter-cultural understanding, thereby strengthening our global community. I will be returning in late July to film the final portion or the project, which will document the outcome of the work currently underway. I invite you to check out our website,www.itcanbedoneafrica.org, for more information.
I hope to make a career as a documentary filmmaker and highlighting organizations, whose efforts to strengthen the global community by works of service, is a topical area which I now feel it is my mission in life to pursue. So many great stories, of people doing more than they thought they could to make the world a better place, are left untold and thus, unknown; I plan to forge my career through closing this deficit.
