Christy Guntner is a freelance photographer and filmmaker based in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She specializes in portraiture, photojournalism, sports photography, and film. She attended the International Center of Photography in New York, and her professional work appears in published editorials and articles throughout Canada and abroad.
In her 2500 sq ft studio by the Atwater Market, she provides custom photography and film services to support her private and corporate clients. From marketing campaigns to family portraiture sessions, she has the exceptional ability to make people feel comfortable, allowing her to capture the beauty and uniqueness of each individual. In addition to prints typically provided in the industry, she also designs elegant hardcover photo books customized for each occasion to showcase the special moments captured in studio or on location.
Including editorials (fashion, celebrity), marketing campaigns (billboards, websites), video-based training programs, and corporate head shots, her recent projects include a video-based module on ApolipoproteinB (an emerging risk factor for heart disease), and a series of videos to train Pfizer Canada sales representatives.
Committed to supporting communities and non-profit organizations around the world, Christy exhibits her philanthropic efforts through photography and film. She wrote, directed, and produced the documentary film: Curly (a busking bagpiper in Toronto, 2012). Also, she provided photography for the film: Healing Magdalene (regarding FGM in Africa, 2009).
Christy created The Kindness Award in 2012, an award she provides within Montreal schools to celebrate and honour altruistic qualities in young girls and teens.
Christy is passionate and committed to giving a voice to the unheard, bringing forth vision and change, and ultimately celebrating what is right with the world.
