Chuck Braverman is an executive, producer, director, and cameraman. He has won Emmys, Clios, Cable Ace awards, been nominated for an Academy Award®, and won the DGA Best Director for a documentary. Braverman Productions has produced commercials, major corporate films, music videos, and television series. Specials and series have featured Jerry Seinfeld, Eddie Murphy, Willie Nelson, Andy Kaufman, Tony Bennett and more. Chuck has produced for Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, A&E, Discovery Times, HBO, TLC, Court TV, MSNBC, and Discovery Health.
In 1980 Chuck produced and directed his first dramatic feature film in New York. He also directed many episodic television shows including St. Elsewhere, Crazy Like a Fox, and Life Goes On Beverly Hills 90210, Northern Exposure, Sledgehammer, and Baywatch. Movies of the week included stars Mark Harmon, Kirstie Alley, Keanu Reeves and Kiefer Sutherland. During the mid 90's Chuck was Senior Vice President at Sony New Technologies supervising the development and production of Sony's new story driven dramatic 3-D Imax films.
Braverman co-founded The Westdoc Conference for documentary and reality filmmakers and is the Chair of the Film Program at Brooks Institute. Chuck has a degree in Cinema from the University of Southern California where he has taught directing and documentary production. Braverman is a member of the Directors Guild of America, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and the International Documentary Association. He is currently developing a feature film and a television series.
