Biography: A native New Yorker, Daria Price is a filmmaker with a diverse background, who works in both documentary and fiction films. She wrote, produced, directed, and edited the award-winning SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST, a satirical mystery that lampoons America's obsession with youth and beauty. It was featured on Comcast’s On Demand Cutting Edge series, played at a dozen festivals worldwide, and won several awards, including the Fusion Audience Award at DancesWithFilms in Los Angeles, the Best American Short at the Swansea Bay Festival in Wales, and the Platinum Remi Award at the Worldfest International.
Working in documentaries, she was the field producer and videographer on Canada's Vision TV series TWIST OF FAITH and on Hdnet's World Report THE SILENT EPIDEMIC: DIABETES IN KIDS. She has directed and photographed science and technology stories with Elsash-TV for Associated Press Television Network, the BBC and HDnet.
A writer for many years, her screenplay THE NESTING was produced and nominated for Best Screenplay and Best Film at Madrid's IMAGFIC festival. Writers Guild of America East selected her screenplay BLOOD FROM A STONE for a staged reading with Patricia Clarkson, Stephen Lang, and Aida Turturro.
Prior to directing, Daria was a Script Supervisor on numerous feature films and commercials and a member of IATSE. Her first feature documentary OUT ON A LIMB is a fiscally sponsored project of the International Documentary Association. It received a New York Women In Film & TV Finishing Fund Grant. It won "Best Documentary" at the 2013 Boston International Film Festival.
