Biography: Daryl Fairweather is an economics student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Her interests range from monetary policy to documentary film making. In the summer of 2008 Daryl set out to film a documentary on the sub-prime mortgage crisis and its effects on the New England area. With help from Cambridge Community Television and the MIT New Media Center, Daryl was able to write, direct, film and edit this project herself. Completed in July, 2008, Foreclosed was Daryl's first documentary and tells the story of the sub-prime crisis through graphics, animation, and interviews with Massachusetts State Senator Tucker and leading economists from the Boston Federal Reserve Bank. In addition to her economics studies at MIT, Daryl has a passion for film and journalism and was excited to combine her interests in economics and the arts to make this film. Daryl co-wrote the article "To Hell with Poverty" in the Spring 2008 issue of Documentary magazine. Daryl is currently a research intern for the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
