Biography: DEVON CHIVVIS Co-founder of Wild Life Productions, Devon Chivvis is a writer and director of documentary and narrative television and film. Currently she is writing/directing a feature documentary titled “The Harvard 5” that tells the story of 5 revolutionary modern architects that took a traditional New England town by storm in the mid 20th century. Currently she is writing and directing a one hour special titled “Secret Subs of WW II” (working title) for National Geographic Channel that will air during “Expedition Week” 2009. Also, she is writing and directing a feature documentary called "The Harvard 5" that tells the personal story of 5 remarkable modern architects who followed one another to the sleepy New England town of New Canaan, Connecticut, not only changing its landscape forever but also changing the way in which post World War II America redefined traditional design. Other recent projects include writing and directing “Operation Deep Climb”, an adventure television special in which 8 teenagers travel from the depths of the sea to the top of the world’s tallest mountain and beyond into space (as their mission banner traveled on the most recent space shuttle to the International Space Station). In 2007 Devon wrote and directed “Elevation”, a feature documentary about 7 mentally and physically challenged athletes attempting to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro after their first attempt failed 17 years ago. She also wrote and directed the 6-part human adventure series, “Backcountry Boot Camp” for Travel Channel that aired in August 2007. At the University of Southern California Graduate School of Cinema-Television, she was chosen to write, direct, and produce a thesis film, “Dance with Me” with Robert Zemeckis (dir. ‘Contact’, ‘Polar Express’, ‘Castaway’, ‘Forest Gump’ etc) as her mentor. Prior to beginning her career in film and television, Devon was an account manager at a startup internetcompany where she led a team of designers and programmers in building extensive websites for Fortune 500companies. Devon received a B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in International Relations and French, with aminor in Italian and an M.F.A from USC School of Cinema-Television. She studied international economics atSciences Politiques in Paris and photography at the Spéos Institute of Photography in Paris and at the Santa FePhotographic Workshop in New Mexico. December 2008
