Diggable Monkey is a boutique video production facility conveniently located in NE Portland, OR. Started in late 2010, Diggable Monkey was established in response to meet a growing need among businesses, organiztions and individuals seeking to enliven their web presence. Video is not only one of the fastest growing components of social media marketing, it is one of the most compelling.
1). The Diggable City (2006) 24 mins.
The Diggable City, a PSU Master of Urban and Regional Planning workshop project prepared for the City of Portland, Oregon, introduced a land inventory containing specific sites of publicly-owned properties where opportunities may exist to expand community gardens and other forms of urban agriculture. In June 2005, the inventory and accompanying report where presented to the Portland City Council and unanimously adopted.
The Diggable City documentary serves to educate a wider audience on current developments surrounding a trend toward localized food production. Through the lens of various urban farm projects and numerous in-depth interviews, The Diggable City Film Project draws the audience into a compelling story that uncovers efforts underway to expand urban agricultural activity in Portland and in other communities throughout surrounding metro area.

2). Jane Jacobs: Parting Words (2007) 20 mins.
Jane Jacobs: Parting Words captures urban thinker, writer, and activist Jane Jacobs (1916-2006) in her final public appearance in Portland, Oregon. On tour to promote her book, DARK AGE AHEAD (2004), Jacobs discusses the imperative for culturally diverse and innovative cities, among numerous other issues. Exploring passages from her seminal work, THE DEATH AND LIFE OF GREAT AMERICAN CITIES (1961) and looking at Jacobs through the eyes of leading Oregon planners, the film highlights Jacobs’ clear-eyed perspectives on the problems and opportunities facing American cities. Parting Words demonstrates Jane Jacobs’ long and abiding influence on urban design and planning.

Was Ist Das? MarchFourth Marching Band in Germany is an up-close and personal ride along with Portland Oregon’s most colorful musical export, MarchFourth Marching Band! Described as eclectic mix world music, imagine Duke Ellington meets Sgt. Pepper in an international big-top Fantasia. Shadow the gigantic 25-member band closely on the 9-day German leg of their most recent 2010 European tour and bear witness to the joyous impact of their infectious show in various locations across Deutschland.
