Biography: Jacob Bricca is a film editor, director, and teacher. He is the editor of Lost in La Mancha, the IFC Films feature doc about Terry Gilliam that played in theatres worldwide, Jimmy Scott: If You Only Knew, which won the Audience Award on PBS's Independent Lens series, and Con Artist, a New Yorker Films release which is currently in theatres. Other editing credits include Tell Me Do You Miss Me, a music documentary about the NYC rock band Luna released by Rhino Home Video, and the ITVS-funded doc Precious Knowledge. His first feature as director, Indies Under Fire: The Battle for the American Bookstore, won prizes at the Santa Cruz Film Festival and the Newburyport Documentary Festival in 2006, and his shorts have been shown at festivals worldwide. Jacob was born and raised in Palo Alto, California. He has an MFA in Film Editing from the American Film Institute, and a BA in Film Studies and Sociology from Wesleyan University. He currently divides his time between filmmaking and teaching, holding a post as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Film Studies at Wesleyan University, where he teaches classes on film production and documentary filmmaking.
