JOHN SLATTERY, Producer, Director and DP
As a professional producer, director and cinematographer he has collaborated with a broad range of talented filmmakers on a number of short and full-length documentaries, TV spots, commercials, pilots, and narratives using film and digital mediums.
Experienced with HD formats, 35mm, 16mm, and S8mm film.
John has extensive experience filming in the Middle–East (Iran and Morocco) and Europe. He also photographed 'Parthanabe', which went recently won an Emmy Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.
While at UCLA he received the Kenneth Macgowan Award for Excellence in Documentary Filmmaking, the Joseph W. Drown Award for Motion Picture Production as well as the Edgar L. Brokaw Scholarship in Film Production and the prestigious Edie and Lew Wasserman Film Production Fellowship
John also worked in the UCLA Dept. of Film, Television as a teaching assistant to Marina Goldovskaya, one of Russia’s best known documentary filmmakers, in her year long Advanced Documentary Workshop.
John recently directed a feature film in Morocco. The film, 'Casablanca Mon Amour' (www.casablancamonamour.com) is now in post production.
John received his MFA (directing and cinematography) from the Department of Film, Television, and Digital Media at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).
