Biography:

Kristrún was born and raised in Reykjavik, Iceland and moved to the United States by way of Bermuda in her twenties. Always a voracious reader, Rúna developed an innate sense of good storytelling which she would attribute in part to the oral traditions of her homeland. After running a small business and working for other companies, big and small, she started out on her career as a Literary Manager. She signed Joël Colburn in 2007 and has now grown into a Producer-Director with her first Documentary, The Renaissance Man (Endurreisnar-Maðurinn in Icelandic) which begins shooting in the end of January, 2010 in Reykjavik.

The Renaissance Man is the story of an Icelandic investigative journalist and his perspective of the financial meltdown there along with a look at the people and events that made him who he is today. Friðrik Þór Guðmundsson is a journalist and reporter with 27 years' experience, primarily in "hard news" or investigative journalism. He holds an MA in Journalism and BA in Political Science from the University of Iceland, and currently teaches part time at the U of I, as well as working as a freelance journalist. He's also a Composer, Musician, Author and all around Renaissance Man. Friðrik offers a unique view of Iceland's political and social challenges and his personal saga is a heart-wrenching tale of loss and recovery. Again, shooting begins in January.

Rúna is also producing an independent film by Joël Colburn about a sexy spy who really knows how to get things done. This project is in development through her shingle, Kristrún Entertainment and is projected to begin shooting in 2011.
