Biography: 

Leslie Ann Coles, Founder and Executive Director of LA Coles Fine Art Film garnered multiple awards for her debut film, “In The Refrigerator” (16mm, 40 min. 2000), which she produced, wrote, directed and starred in Selected for screenings in more than 35 international film festivals it garnered multiple awards for “Best Picture”, “Best Actress”, “Best Short Film”, “Best Film”, “Best Debut Filmmaker”, “Best Avant-Garde”, “Best Director” and the Grand Jury Award: “Filmmaker In an Acting Role.”

In 2003, Leslie Ann won her first CTV Banff TV World Television Fellowship and garnered a second win in 2007 for her documentary series, “Shooting Stars”, now in development with White Pine Pictures, Peter Raymont (co-producing).

A Women In The Director's Chair (WIDC) 2005 alumni, Leslie Ann was awarded the 2006 WIDC Alumni Award for her TV Comedy Series entitled, “Variety Store” (available for option). In June 2006, Leslie Ann was one of five writer/producer teams selected for the first Annual ACTRA Pitch the Networks with “Wicked People”, a very original dramatic anthology series. Coles co-produced and starred in the demo/pilot episode, “Tea With Mother”.

Leslie Ann is currently producing and directing her debut documentary feature entitled, “Should’ve Been There” and was awarded a National Film Board Assistance, FAP (2007) to assist with the films completion.

Leslie Ann continues to work in the industry of film and television as a actress and is the Executive Director of the Female Eye Film Festival (FeFF), an annual international film festival for women directors which will celebrate its 8th year March 19 - 23, 2010.
