Biography: 

James (Jim) D. Long is a filmmaker, publisher and author. In 1995, Jim and his wife, Carol, were wed while on a archaeological dig in Israel, at the Cave of the Column, overlooking the Dead Sea. After becoming life partners, they became business partners and formed Lightcatcher, a video production and book publishing venture. Under their Lightcatcher Productions banner, Jim and Carol wrote and produced ON THE WINGS OF EZEKIEL, the true story of one of the first Texas airships.

The Long’s began developing a proposed television series based on the Jewish Oral Tradition, entitled LEGENDS - A SECRET HISTORY OF THE WORLD. That project offered them the opportunity to shoot in Israel, Egypt, Jordan and England. Their location footage has since been featured in TLC's series GIANTS, the History Channel mini-series GOLD!, Discovery Channel’s SECRETS OF THE HOLY LAND and National Geographic's DIGGING FOR THE TRUTH. Lightcatcher Productions also licensed their visuals for use in the Hallmark television movie MARCO POLO and, most recently, the popular CBS dramatic series THE UNIT.

Lightcatcher’s TREASURES OF THE COPPER SCROLL was honored as an official entry in the 2007 Monaco Charity Film Festival and the 2008 Beverly Hills Hi Def Film Festival. Lightcatcher Productions recently launched The Menorah Channel via the Roku Player. The channel streams free on-demand content produced in Israel, as well as pay-per-view Hebrew-language feature films with English subtitles.
