Biography: 

Mitchell Covington is an experienced composer, arranger, music director and conductor. His compositions span many genres including music for orchestra, chorus, stage, film and television. With advanced degrees in music composition and conducting, many years experience performing in various rock bands and a broad understanding of music technology, Mitchell brings many influences to the music he creates.

Mitchell Covington has a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition from San Francisco State University and a Master of Music degree from the University of Southern California, graduating with honors in 1991. Her is currently on the faculty of the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, School of Music for Visual Media.

Mitchell is a recipient of the Met Life/Aaron Copeland Foundation “Meet the Composer” Award, a Northern California Emmy Award and several film festival awards and prizes.

As a composer, Mitchell’s true passion is writing for film. He has scored dozens of projects including trailers, short films, independant features and a nationally broadcast documentary television series.
