Brief Message to Members: Dear Members, I am Mohammed Anwerzada, I direct and produce documentaries on social issues in Pakistan. I produce documentaries for a local english channel in Pakistan, Dawn News Tv and lead a production company that does freelance work.
Biography: Born in Karachi , Pakistan. My parents are poets and novelist. With awareness of media already present in the house that I grew up in, since my father is a journalist. I also developed a sense of telling stories at a young age. After completing my A levels I applied to Hunter College , CUNY in New York for bachelors in Film and Media and while completing my education I worked for CECCO studio for a year an a half to learn lighting and grip. My passion was always to make films but lack of resources and opportunities did not allow me to make any films in U.S.A. So on my return from educational form America, I found my self a job at a local television channel in Karachi, Pakistan. After a two years of television I started making documentaries.Made documentaries on topics such as Male sex workers, prostitution, Talibans , Street and runaway children , Eunuchs, Special and micro-cephalic children. Currently working on a series on non-muslim communities in Islamic republic of Pakistan. My intention was to document stories of people that experience neglect from society and social system. And since I did not have the luxury of a crew I learned camera work and editing myself. Besides researching for documentaries, my experience with communities such as street children, Eunuch , Male sex workers and other marginalized sectors of a third world state lead me to believe that I do not need to have a narration or voice over and I started crafting my three act story telling through character voice. I have directed about 40 documentary films and 5 commercials . I would love to share my work with anyone. And I am open to co-producing, directing, or assisting in any project as an AD, so please feel free to contact me as my details are available. Mohammed Anwerzada Director FLUX
