Brief Message to Members: 

Cynthia is a journalist, writer, playwright and visual artist. She focuses on projects which addess faith and spirituality and their relationship to the search for meaning in a troubled world. She covered the Balkan War as a producer, writer and photographer. Her documentary work on war traumatized children won awards from the National Endowment for the Arts and the American Film Institute. She has written about homeless issues in the greater Los Angeles area and produced an online video series about homeless mothers for a regional newspaper. For many years, she has studied the works of H.P. Blavatsky, the teaching of Ramana Maharshi and Christian mystics. She has led meditation groups and contemplative retreats to bring a greater sense of stillness to the stress of everyday life. Her stage play, “Madame Blavatsky,” based on the life of Helena Petrovna Blavatsky was produced in Los Angeles in 1986.
