Brief Message to Members:

UNFIT is a portrait of several teenagers across America who have been declared "unfit" by juvenile courts, and ultimately sentenced to adult prisons, sometimes for most of their lives. Each year approximately 200,000 youth are tried in adult courts. UNFIT takes an intimate look at who and how these kids came to be prison inmates, and the effect public consciousness and our legal system has on these young "criminals" and their families.

Biography:

Patricia Foulkrod’s most recent, award-winning, feature documentary, THE GROUND TRUTH, looks at the effects of the Iraq War on our soldiers. It premiered at The Sundance Film Festival in 2006, and was distributed by Focus Features in 2007.

THE GROUND TRUTH received extraordinary reviews and was shortlisted for an Academy Award.

“The Best film to come out of 9/11 and the Iraq War.”
Richard Coriliss, TIME.

"This is undeniably one of the year's most compelling films."
USA TODAY

Patricia has produced ten independent feature films, a six part documentary series, The Native Americans,
and numerous other documentary projects.

Foulkrod has taught school, meditation, and GED classes in several jails in Los Angeles where she has witnessed an honest desire for positive change among her students.

The question is not can these kids change..the question is, if they want to change, will we let them?
