Brief Message to Members: My name is Reynaldo Reyes Jr. I am a artist and writer. I am looking to fund one of my novels that I have adapted into a screenplay and hopefully make it into a documentary supernatural drama.
Biography: PORTAL TO HELL Log line: When a flaming specter steps through a portal in the teenage Reynaldo Reyes's living room in Brooklyn, N.Y. it's just the first of a series of frightening encounters and unexplained deaths, including that of the well-known rapper Jam Master Jay of Run DMC. This is the bizarre true story of a life-long struggle with the supernatural/horror. Synopsis: If Poltergeist was a graphic novel set to rap music, you would have the life of Reynaldo Reyes. Welcome to his neighborhood in Brooklyn, N.Y. where the front stoops are littered with sorcerers, back stabbers, blackmailers, criminal conspirators, drug addicts, and welfare families. Where rappers Run DMC are involved in a bizarre mystery. When he is a teenager, a series of strange events culminate in a fright night: the kitchen blazes with flames that don't burn, "something" steps through the ring of fire, and Reynaldo's reaction is so severe he is rushed to the hospital on December 4, 1980. Whatever entity came through that night it doesn't leave. It harasses Reynaldo and frightens others in the building. His behavior changes, often for the worse. There are arguments, physical fights, and trouble with the police. Violence swirls around him. At the same time, the deeply religious Reynaldo has confusing visions of heaven and hell, as well as the future. For example, he suddenly and frantically announces that terrorists are going to blow up the Empire State Building. No one believes him. Three days later, terrorists attack the World Trade Center. The script, based on the book of the same name, details the long years of inner torment and struggle to find answers. Soon after Reynaldo creates a rap song about three apparitions he experienced over a four-year period, he has premonitions in which a mysterious deity speaks to the well-known lead singer of the rap group Run DMC and starts a rumor that inspires the group's 1986 hit album "Raising Hell." Less than a month after Reynaldo's book is accepted for publication, Jam Master Jay of the rap group Run DMC is murdered while his book was being printed. Today the killers have not been captured, and the death remains unsolved. Nor have the specters left Reynaldo alone. ACCORDING TO BALLER STATUS Site Last Updated: 5:37 AM EDT, September 10, 2008 Jam Master Jay Documentary To Premiere In Hollywood Published: Tuesday - June 3, 2008 Words by Ronnie Gamble A new documentary, called "Two Turntables And A Microphone," going over the investigation of the unsolved murder of Jam Master Jay will make its premiere on Tuesday (June 3) at The 9th Annual Hollywood Black Film Festival (HBFF). The documentary was produced by the late DJ's cousin Phonz and directed by Guy Logan. It chronicles Jam Master Jay's life, as well as his unsolved murder, which took place in his Hollis, Queens recording studio, on October 30, 2002. "It's Jam Master Jay's life story man, telling what happened to him," Phonz told BallerStatus.com back in February. "I was born and raised with Jam Master Jay and Run DMC, traveled around the world with him and now we doing this movie. I created the movie to be like a tribute, man, just to tell who Jam Master Jay was." As he explained then, it's not focused solely around his murder, but would also celebrate his life. And feature interviews and appearances by the likes of Russell Simmons, 50 Cent, Kid Rock, Run DMC, LL Cool J and Rick Ruben, among others. "We celebrating his life. We celebrate what Jay has done for hip-hop and this industry, as well as dive into his murder," he said. "We really get into what happened to Jam Master Jay. Six people in the studio, one person gets killed and nobody knows anything. That's a problem. It's time to address the situation." To date, his murder remains unsolved. "Jam Master Jay is a legend. He should be remembered and reflected upon," Onyxx member, Sticky Fingaz, said in a statement to BallerStatus. "He started my music career as well as many others. People need to know about his life and what happened to him. The movie shows you what justice is in America. A legend is murdered in front of 4 or 5 witnesses and the case is still unsolved? It's a wake up call." AUTHOR'S BIOGRAPHY: My name is Reynaldo Reyes I came from a religious family of eight siblings. I was the only one out of my brothers and sisters who was born seven months premature but I was born with a very special talent since a child. I was born in Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y. I was also raised in the five boroughs in New York City. On April 5, 1964 I was baptized in a roman catholic church St. Augustine R.C. located at 116 6th Avenue Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217. I was baptized by my aunt Elsie Reyes and my uncle Miguel Pena. Then I received my first holy communion on March 30th 1974 in a church called St. Luke's on 623 East 138th Street Bronx, N.Y. 10454. since then, I committed myself in church communities from the Bronx to Park Slope, Brooklyn where my family and I moved in 1975. We reside in a neighborhood located on 1st street in Fifth Avenue Park Slope Brooklyn. It was just right down the block from Our Lady of Peace a roman catholic church. It seems that wherever we moved there was always a roman catholic church in the neighborhood. That's when I deeply began committing myself into a catholic retreat bible study group called the "Jornada" meaning three days holy retreat. Since then, I was involved in more and more church events and activities. In 1979 I went to school and worked in a public library in my nearby residence, every time I had a chance after work I went home and opened up my art table and began to oil paint and sketch different things. Besides work I kept busy going to bookstores and libraries on my spare time and studying different kinds of novels and documentary movies. Today I love listening to music, working out, and staying healthy. Reynaldo Reyes is a freelance artist and writer. His designs have appeared on T-shirts and his commissioned paintings hang in St. Thomas Catholic Church and The Parapsychology Foundation.
