Biography: Cinematography isn’t just photographing life; it’s a way to convey the true essence of a story.
As a cinematographer, Jillian Arnold tries to uphold this in each project she engages in. Originally from Chicago, Jillian has studied in Paris, London and Madison, Wisconsin before moving to Los Angeles to pursue her passion for film. Her love for photography and lighting were nurtured and pushed to higher levels as she completed her masters at Chapman University in Cinematography. In fall of 2007, Jillian was asked to join the cinematography department as an adjunct professor and currently teaches at Columbia College Hollywood as well.
Each project has been unique in nature, spanning several genres: comedy, western, film noir, new wave, drama as well as reality TV. These include short films, music videos, commercials and projects as specialized as Navy Seal paint ball tournaments. In May of 2008, Jillian was asked to join the camera team at the Jet Propulsions Lab in Pasadena, California to shoot the Mars Phoenix Landing. Jillian has been camera operating for JPL NASA shooting lectures, landings, launches and documentaries around the globe.
Other projects Jillian has been working on is the children's show pilot, The Galapagos. An animated children series aimed at teaching youngsters the importance about environmental safety. Jillian has shot four award winning short films that have screened in over thirty festivals in 2007 - 2009.
