Biography: A California native, Tina Imahara received her MFA from the Editing Program at the AFI (American Film Institute) and was the sole recipient of the Blum Kovler Scholarship, a full scholarship awarded to only one student within the program. Imahara also holds a BFA from the California Institute of the Arts in Art/Graphic Design/Documentary Photography. 

 Imahara is known for bringing 'the heart' of the film's vision to her projects. She has edited over 50 independent films, most noted are: • THE BIG FIX, 2011 Cannes Film Festival Official Selection http://thebigfixmovie.com/Home.html • FUEL (aka FIELDS OF FUEL), the 2008 Sundance Audience Award Winner. http://thefuelfilm.com/ • ON TIP TOE, Oscar and Emmy nomination. IDA Award Winner in 2001. • GANG TAPES, A Lions Gate Production, 9 nominations at the 2002 DVD Exclusive Awards including BEST EDITING. Tina has edited over 50 short & feature films. GANG TAPES, A Lions Gate Production, received 9 nominations at the 2002 DVD Exclusive Awards including BEST EDITING. In addition, Tina has edited the compelling documentary, ON TIP TOE, the story of the Grammy Award winning South African Musical Group, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and their rise above apartheid. ON TIP TOE won the prestigious International Documentary Association (IDA) Award and was honored with ACADEMY AWARD and EMMY AWARD NOMINATIONS. Tina was the Lead Editor of FUEL, a feature documentary addressing America’s addiction to oil and the search for clean, sustainable energy. FUEL won THE AUDIENCE AWARD for BEST DOCUMENTARY at the 2008 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL where it received 11 standing ovations. FUEL experienced a successful limited theatrical release and was Short Listed for the 2009 Academy Awards. Most recently, Tina edited HARMONY, a documentary feature film and NBC television special in collaboration with HRH The Prince of Wales (Prince Charles). HARMONY addresses climate change and innovative solutions to the global environmental crisis. Currently, Tina is back with the FUEL team, editing THE BIG FIX, a feature documentary on the BP Gulf Oil Crisis. She's thrilled that THE BIG FIX has been honored as an Official Selection at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival. Next in her queue is a feature documentary in collaboration with Academy Award Winning Screenwriter, CHRIS MCQUARRIE (The Usual Suspects, Valkyrie) on the life of legendary Screenwriter, STEWART STERN of "Rebel Without A Cause".
