Tamara Krinsky is an actress, writer and producer. She is the associate editor of the IDA’s DOCUMENTARY magazine, a producer for www.documentary.org, and has been published in VARIETY, FILMMAKER and THE INDEPENDENT. She blogs about science and culture on the blog SCIENCE LUSH, and is a staff writer for TUBEFILTER.TV, where she covers all aspects of web television.
An accomplished actress, Krinsky has performed in numerous classical theatre productions in the L.A. area, as well as in comedy shows such as MORTIFIED!, SHOW & TELL (UCB) and WHAT I LIKE ABOUT JEW. On-screen appearances include SEVENTH HEAVEN, CHARMED and STAR TREK: FIRST CONTACT.
Krinsky often combines her journalistic and performance skills as an on-camera host. Whether dolled up on the red carpet or in more intimate one-on-one interview settings, she loves chatting it up with everyone from performers such as Hugh Jackman, Jason Schwartzman, Jennifer Lopez and David Boreanaz, to writers and directors such as Diablo Cody. Krinsky wrote and hosted 30 episodes of THE SPOTLIGHT, a lighthearted tech news show for consumer tech site Tom’sGuide.com. Additional hosting and correspondent work includes AT THE FEST (2008 Webby honoree), which featured interviews with independent film directors, writers and talent, and PBS's WIRED Science.
Krinsky has a deep appreciation for independent film. She was the associate director of the Film Program at HBO’s U.S. Comedy Arts Festival for 6 years, and has worked with the Los Angeles, Maui Film and AFI Festivals. Krinsky also has a marked interest in new media and was a Producer with the Interactive Division of Crew Creative for 2.5 years, during which she has worked on the online marketing campaigns for Discovery Channel’s SHARK WEEK and films such as DARFUR NOW, THE 11TH HOUR, SNOW ANGELS and FUNNY GAMES.
