Wild Life Productions LLC (WLP) is a film and television production company co-founded by J. Mark Fowler and Devon Chivvis in 2003. Its mission is to produce inspiring human adventure, wilderness, wildlife, history and science programming with the highest possible production value, cinematography, editing, sound design, and most importantly, substance. In addition to the differing backgrounds, experience, and skills that Mark and Devon bring to their company, it is truly their shared passion for great storytelling that is the company’s most valuable asset.
Currently, WLP is producing a National Geographic Channel ‘Expedition Week’ special “MYSTERIES OF THE ANCIENT POLYNESIANS” about a sunken mythical continent that actually could have been an ancient homeland for advanced Polynesian societies throughout the South Pacific. The show will premiere on Nat Geo Channel in November 2011 during Expedition Week.
Most recently WLP produced a National Geographic Channel ‘Expedition Week’ special, “HUNT FOR THE SAMURAI SUBS” that tells the story of the underwater search for 5 sunken WWII Japanese aircraft carrying submarines off the Hawaiian Islands. The show premiered in November 2009 during “Expedition Week”.

OPERATION DEEP CLIMB, a 1-hour tv special in which a group of teenage adventurers travel from the depths of the sea to the top of the World’s tallest mountain (from base to top), Mauna Kea, in the Hawaiian islands & beyond into space.
ELEVATION, an inspirational documentary feature film, telling the story of 7 mentally and physically disabled athletes as they attempt to conquer the uphill battle of a lifetime: to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, the tallest freestanding mountain in the world... for the second time.
THE HARVARD 5, a feature documentary that tells the story of 5 groundbreaking mid-century modern architects who all landed in the sleepy commuter town of New Canaan, CT in the mid 1940’s, planting their Bauhaus ideal in the New Canaan granite by constructing “modern” homes that exemplified their unique styles but collective philosophy.
DNA EXPLORERS, a 1-hour pilot that takes the viewer to exotic locations around the world on a quest to uncover the truth behind cultural legends and historical myths by using modern science to solve some of the greatest mysteries on the planet.
BACKCOUNTRY BOOT CAMP, a 6-part wilderness adventure series that aired in August 2007 on Travel Channel.
J. Mark Fowler, Executive Producer, has an extensive background in documentary film and television. In addition to Executive Producing the aforementioned shows, he was also co-producer and co-host of the internationally syndicated wildlife television series, “JIM FOWLER’S LIFE IN THE WILD” that ran for two seasons and was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Educational Television Programming. In addition, Mark has lectured with exotic wildlife for organizations such as NBC’s Today Show, the Fox News Channel morning show, “Fox and Friends”, and The Explorer’s Club, where he is a member. His father is Jim Fowler, host of the original Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom.
Devon Chivvis, Writer/Director, is responsible for crafting each story told by WLP and for designing the look and feel of each project. She received her MFA in Film and Television Production from the USC Graduate School of Cinema-Television where she was mentored by Robert Zemeckis. In addition to writing and directing the aforementioned shows, she wrote and directed the narrative short film, “Dance With Me” that has international distribution and has won 7 awards, including the Ciné Golden Eagle award.
Alicia Albee, Producer, is responsible for overseeing each production from start to finish. In addition to producing the aforementioned shows, Alicia has worked in TV production for various companies both in New York City and LA since 1998 and with networks such as The Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, Showtime, Travel Channel, and History Channel, Bravo among others.
