'His and Hers' Finds a Match Down Under

Ken Wardrop's His and Hers, playing in the Sundance World Documentary competition, has sold all rights in Australia and New Zealand to Madman Entertainment. This doc has been the subject of lots of postive shuttle chatter, and I'm very sad that I'm not going to get to see it before I leave Park City tomorrow. Hopefully, it'll find distribution in the States...or perhaps I can get the IDA to send me on a li'l trip (hey, a girl can dream!).

Here's the full press release...

Sundance World Competition Documentary

Sells first rights at festival

January 25, 2010

Park City, UT/Sundance Film Festival— The Film Sales Company announced today that it sold all rights in Australia and New Zealand to the Sundance World Documentary Competition film HIS & HERS, directed by Ken Wardrop and produced by Andrew Freedman of Venom Ltd., to Madman Entertainment immediately following the North American Premiere screening  in Park City.

The film is the first feature from Wardrop. HIS & HERS tells a 90-year-old love story through the collective voice of 76 female characters at different stages of their lives—talking about their lives, loves, hopes, dreams and relationship as they share reflections and revelations that are both extremely intimate and personal on the one hand and universally resonant on the other.

HIS & HERS producer Andrew Freedman said, “We are delighted to be working alongside Madman in the distribution of HIS & HERS in Australia and New Zealand. We are thrilled to think that our wonderful reception from the Sundance audiences will now translate to other countries as well.”

The deal was negotiated by Andrew Herwitz, Film Sales Company President, along with Paul Wiegard on behalf of the distributor. The company anticipates announcing numerous additional deals on the film in the coming days.
