Nina Weinstein is the Director of Development for MSNBC Originals. She located to New York from Los Angeles to join NBC NEWS in 2015, bringing an extensive background in non-fiction television production and development. Prior to joining NBC, Weinstein was the Senior Producer on the ABC special “Katrina: After the Storm.”

Weinstein previously worked as Executive Producer at Bloomberg Television where she created the documentary series “GameChangers” and supervised long form programming and acquisitions. She also produced digital programming for Bloomberg.com.

Weinstein also worked at National Geographic Television in Los Angeles where she was Vice President, West Coast Production and Development. Before joining NGT, Weinstein was Executive Producer for the West Coast Discovery Production Group, overseeing specials and multipart series for the various Discovery Networks, including the Travel Channel and Discovery Health.

Weinstein has also held various executive production positions on reality programs including the NBC series “Average Joe” and “The Law Firm.” She has also supervised, produced and written for shows for Bravo, CBS News, NBC News and Court TV and has produced for Meredith Vieira, Ed Bradley, Steve Kroft, and Maria Shriver.

Ms. Weinstein’s work as a television news producer/writer of documentaries and newsmagazine reports has been widely recognized and honored. Her work includes programs for NBC News, National Geographic television and CBS News that received two Emmy Awards, an Alfred I. duPont-Columbia University Award and an Academy Award nomination.
