About the Project

After serving Los Angeles for 68 years, in November 2005 one of nation's most prominent historic landmarks was demolished to make way for
the construction of three schools. After 68 is a feature length documentary exploring the rise and fall of the Ambassador Hotel, the fifteen year legal battle that ensued after it closed, its contributions to local and national history, and the impact of the building's fate on the Los Angeles community. Ultimately, this unique film will demonstrate how the Ambassador Hotel's history has become the site of opposing
cross-cultural divides and a struggle to define Los Angeles as a multi-faceted urban center.
