Forest On Fire
The forest, beautiful and serene; an icon of the West and the stuff of many a legend and story, a symbol of health, vitality and the natural order of things. Or is it?Surprisingly, some see these same forests as a powder keg, a ticking time bomb of destruction and devastation just waiting for the right conditions to set it off.If the last 25 years are any indication, we have truly entered an age of mega forest fires. Each year, fires across the West set records for acres and structures burned, for habitat and neighborhoods destroyed, and for money spent trying to contain them. And most forestry experts agree that it's only going to get worse.
