The Last Fishing Village
The elders of Hawaii's last native fishing village struggle to pass on their ancestral knowledge of the ocean. "Take care of the sea, and it will take care of you," is a creed they practiced for generations. But in a community of dwindling resources and few opportunities, do the old ways mean anything to a new generation? Among the people we'll meet is Uncle Walter Paulo, esteemed kupuna (elder), who in 2006 was recognized as one of Hawaii's "Living Treasures" for his expertise in opelu fishing.
