Kit Bricca is a dreamer. A stalwart of the Bay Area protest movements of the 1960s and 70s with a deep passion for justice and the environment, he found the transition from revolutionary to breadwinner a challenging one. As his son Jacob grew, he saw his father's friends build their careers while Kit was still working to produce the big concert, organize the big protest, and make the big movie that would show the world the way forward to peace. As the first decade of the 21st Century draws to a close, Kit is still trying to save the world.Tatanka is Jacob Bricca's feature documentary about his father's dreams and the tenuous legacy of the Sixties in America today. Intimate interviews with singer Joan Baez, United Farm Workers co-founder Dolores Huerta, and Pentagon Papers whistleblower Daniel Ellsberg are combined with present-day verite footage of Kit's far-flung ventures to produce an indelible, bittersweet portrait of a man who refuses to let his dreams die.
