WHAT SHE SAID tells the story of Pauline Kael, longtime New Yorker film critic and best-selling author, and her battle to make a name for herself. Through new interviews, her own words, and never-before-seen archival, our film shows her modest beginnings, how her unique voice was forged, her relationships with filmmakers, and her substantial impact. We also see late-20th-century movies through her lens.
