What's New: A Conversation with NPR's N'Jeri Eaton

IDA Offices, 3470 Wilshire Blvd. Suite 980, Los Angeles CA 90010

Join us and N’Jeri Eaton, Senior Manager of Programming Acquisitions at National Public Radio, for the next installment in our What’s New series, in which prominent industry leaders in documentary present up-to-the-minute information about what’s happening in the documentary  landscape and discuss new opportunities in nonfiction content.

In recent years podcasts have seen a major surge in popularity with 67 million listening to podcasts monthly. In response to this growing audience, NPR announced the creation of Story Lab to act as a creative studio that gives a platform to new voices to tell stories, foster experimentation in the form, and help evolve the sound of public radio. In this informative session, N’Jeri will discuss NPR’s ongoing vision for podcast programming, and give insight into the new forms of audio content that she is seeking to develop for the network. N’Jeri will also be joined by Tom Dreisbach, producer for NPR’s new podcast Embedded, to discuss the nuts and bolts of the production process.

In conversation with N’Jeri and Tom will be Claire Aguilar, IDA’s Director of Programming and Policy. A great opportunity for Southern California filmmakers to engage with a prominent leader in documentary and nonfiction programming, this intimate session will also include ample opportunity for Q&A.
