About the Center

Built around several thousand films, television shows, print elements, and audio recordings, the Center has been for five decades an operating platform for scholarship, student training, documentary production, public programming, digital access, and media-literacy education.

Why This Center Matters Now

Film, television, journalism, propaganda, and digital media are central evidence for understanding modern history. Yet much of the twentieth century’s audiovisual record remains inaccessible, deteriorating, commercially neglected, or insufficiently interpreted. Students now encounter an information environment shaped by algorithmic recommendation, manipulated imagery, political messaging, historical revisionism, and artificial intelligence. Media literacy is therefore an essential component of civic education, historical inquiry, journalism, cultural analysis, and democratic participation.

WHY I AM REACHING OUT TO YOU?

I have spent the last half century producing stories about our society and how mass media has reshaped the world we live in. I’ve collected several thousand films, videos and print elements to support this mission. The time has come to conduct my final workshops sharing my creative and academic background as well as to donate the materials in my center to one or more institutions that wish to serve as the new home and help educate the next generation of filmmakers and history detectives. Funds we collect will make this possible.
