Late Registration for Getting Real '20

IDA’s biennial conference on documentary media, Getting Real '20, is taking place online this week from Tuesday, Sept 29 to Saturday, Oct 3. The full Getting Real ‘20 schedule is now available!

Grenadine is our attendee registration and scheduling portal while actual programming will take place on our virtual event platform, Hopin.

If you have already registered on Grenadine: you will receive an email titled "Invitation to online event - Getting Real '20" with access to Hopin on Monday, September 28. There is no need to separately register on Hopin.

If you have not registered on Grenadine as of Monday, September 28: please proceed to Hopin for late registration.

Registration is free, but we are still collecting donations to our community partners. You’ll be supporting one of the following organizations:

  • BADWest and Black Documentary Collective support the artistic development and professional advancement of documentary media makers of African descent.

  • A-Doc is a national network that works to increase the visibility and support of Asian Americans in the documentary field. Champion A-Doc's mission to provide resources, support, and mentorship for Asian American storytellers.

  • FWD-Doc seeks to increase the visibility of, support for, and direct access to opportunities and employment for D/deaf and disabled filmmakers.

  • Undocumented Filmmakers Collective tackles the systemic inequities in the filmmaking field by centering the creative expertise of undocumented people.

  • Brown Girls Doc Mafia is an initiative of women and non-binary professionals of color working in the documentary film industry around the world. Help BGDM grow and nurture its global network of 4,000+ members.

  • NeXt Doc is a year-long fellowship that brings together emerging storytellers from diverse backgrounds across the country. Help us provide scholarships to support a new generation of documentarians to attend the next in-person Getting Real Documentary Conference.
