About the Screening

Please join us Monday, July 25, for the launch of DocuClubLA with a screening of Everything Must Change by filmmakers Mariam Jobrani and Kenny Krauss. DocuClub works-in-progress screenings have a long and storied history in NYC, and we're excited to bring this program to Los Angeles in partnership with the Echo Park Film Center.

Everything Must Change is an Iranian-American woman’s search for meaning after her recurrent diagnosis of Breast Cancer. This first-person, follow-along documentary unfolds in real time over 6 years, beginning with Mariam Jobrani’s first Breast Cancer diagnosis in 2010. Upon diagnosis, her ex-boyfriend, Kenny Krauss, starts documenting her journey through Western medicine treatments and later her worldwide search for physical and spiritual healing. This uplifting documentary explores themes such as: the quest for meaning when faced with a life-threatening illness and the healing power of true love and friendship.

DocuClub works-in-progress screening series is a regular collaboration between IDA and the EPFC which offers the public and members of the film community advance access to new documentaries in progress, and the opportunity to participate in intimate feedback conversations with filmmakers and creators.

Doors open at 7:00 pm. Screening, followed by a moderated feedback discussion with the filmmakers - 7:30pm - 10:30pm. Drinks will be available for a modest suggested donation. Space is very limited so please update your RSVP if you can't make it so we can have a real count of the attendees. Admission not guaranteed, all RSVP's are first-come, first-served.
