DocuClub NY: afterward

DCTV, 87 Lafayette Street, New York NY 10013

About the Screening

Please join us Monday, June 5th, for DocuClub NY! We'll be screening director Ofra Bloch's afterward. Following the screening, we will be joined by OFRA BLOCH (Director), JACK RICCOBONO (Producer), and MICHEAL J. PALMER (Editor) for a moderated discussion.

afterward follows a Jerusalem-born psychoanalyst's journeys through Germany, Israel, and Palestine to uncover the contemporary impact of the Holocaust on fear, the other, and her own identity. In this timely and fearless personal documentary set against the current wave of nationalism sweeping the globe, director Ofra Bloch engages with the people she was raised to hate and dismiss. Seen as a victim in one context and a perpetrator in the next, the film points towards a future - an "afterward" - that attempts to live with the truths of history in order to make sense of the present.

DocuClub NY is a regular collaboration between IDA and DCTV. This work-in-progress screening series offers the public and members of the film community advance access to new documentaries in progress, and the opportunity to participate in behind-the-scenes conversations with filmmakers and creators.

Doors open at 6:30pm. Screening followed by a moderated feedback discussion with the filmmakers - 7:00pm - 10:00pm. Admission not guaranteed, all RSVP's are first-come, first-served. Drinks lovingly provided by Brooklyn Brewery.

**Please note that there will be no press allowed for this screening. Also, we respectfully request no social media mentions of this work-in-progress.**
